The German singer Anette von Eichel (1971), originally from northern Hesse and now resides in Cologne, moved to the Netherlands in 1994 to study at the King’s Conservatory in Den Haag. While there, she also received a diploma in history from Reichs University Leiden. At King’s Conservatory, she studied under Rachel Gould, Jeanne Lee and Jerry van Rooijen. Anette von Eichel graduated in September 2000 following her concert exams and was awarded the distinction of a "excellent level of art, on which she expresses her unique personality."

Her first own CD titled "Welcome To My World" was released in the Netherlands in 2001 (AVE 2001). This CD received a lot of favorable reviews in the Netherlands and Germany. The latest CD by the Anette von Eichel Band, "Get Out Now!" (DMCHR 71037), was released in April 2004 in collaboration with Double Moon Records and Jazz thing.

In addition to her work with her own band, Anette has explored very different areas of jazz in her musical career. After starting in free jazz with the Hessian Ensemble H (1994/1995), she worked as a soloist in smaller and larger ensembles, including the Bundesjugend Jazzorchester (tr.: German Youth Jazz Orchestra) conducted by Peter Herbolzheimer (1995-1997) and the Sunday Night Orchestra (1999 and 2000). Concert tours with these bands and her own projects have also resulted in tours Austria, Hungary, Romania, Moldavia, Switzerland, Spain and South Africa in addition to Germany.

Anette von Eichel is an instructor for jazz singing at the King’s Conservatory in Den Haag and the College of Music in Cologne. She also teaches at workshops in Germany and other countries.
